Speak Life

Growing up, your mother may have taught you that name calling was mean. As you got a little older, she may have had to remind you that it's not nice gossip about others behind their backs. My mother always told me that if I didn't have anything nice to say, "then don't say anything at all." Those elementary manners that we learned as small children actually are based on biblical principals. The bible says"Words kill, words give life; they’re either poison or fruit—you choose." (Proverbs 18:21 MSG) Our words have power, and we must pay attention the the things we say. As Pretty Girls, we are to use our words to edify (build up) ourselves and those around us. Whenever you are having a bad day, you can speak God's word over yourself for encouragement and instantly feel a whole lot better. (Believe me it works!) If you know someone that is frustrated or upset, you can use your words to speak life into them and turn their frown upside down. Profanity, insulting others, name calling and gossiping are just a few of the many examples of the words people use to hurt each other. If ever someone tries to speak against who God says you are, use your words and and let them know all the good that God says you are. You have the authority over what you say; be sure your words are helping and not harming someone else.

Proverbs 16:24
Pleasant words are as an honeycomb, sweet to the soul, and health to the bones.
